Your best bet is to offer out your services to others such as picking up dry cleaning, doing grocery shopping, dog walking etc. All things others don’t want to do but you can during the day hours and most you can tote your kids around doing. Strictly working from home maybe you can learn to make quilts, nice ones can sell for a hefty price, either on ebay or make a ‘local’ brand for yourself and sell them friends & neighbors. I wouldnt bother with transcription, most doctors offices have someone to do their work for them already (I work in a doctors office) and aren’t going to switch to someone new. Plus with the data age we are all looking to get into voice recognition so your job would be obselete in a few years anyway. Don’t fall for mail stuffing scams. Also is there a way to decrease spending in the house instead of increasing income? Not eating out, buying off brand, eliminating cell phones, car pooling, getting lower rates on high interest credit cards, not eating out etc. If you get creative you might be able to lower spending and therefore lower the amount of money you would have to earn on the side.
